Growth, then and now.

In the closing years of the 19th Century, Georg Stängle began to operate cartage services between Härtsfeld, a manor belonging to the estate of the Dukes of Thurn und Taxis, and the railway station in Giengen. His horse-drawn cartage company was the historical predecessor of Spedition Schwarz, which was founded in 1936.

Today, we are still a family business and we have no intention of changing anything in this respect. Our management, administration and dispatching offices, warehousing space and workshops are all located at our 20,000 square-metre site in Herbrechtingen. Our home market is Germany, but we have additional connections to Switzerland and Austria. Together with our subsidiary Kareka in Ustí nad Labem (Czech Republic, Greater Prague region), and a whole series of permanent partners in transportation, we are always close to our customers wherever they may be located.

Within the Schwarz Group itself, the trucking division completes around 57,000 single journeys every year with a total tonnage of approximately 300,000 tonnes of freight. Our full fleet of over 200 vehicles clocks up an annual mileage of 28 million kilometres – that’s the equivalent of driving around the equator 699 times.
